Take time to smell the toe-ses

G lay on the couch this morning and requested a foot massage. It's seriously amazing having time to do such a simple thing in the morning. Shame her foot massage skills are not yet honed...

Domestic Goddess-ing

I just had my final pay this week and it's a bit scary to think that's it money wise until I find something I can do around G. Still no regrets though!

G and I have been blitzing the house. Changing rooms around, scrubbing skirting boards and filling up bags for the Salvation Army. It's been so great to do these boring domestic duties while not feeling like I'm 'wasting' our precious time together. G has been so great getting involved too. Every day, I'm realising more and more just how much I missed out on while I was at work.

As a side note, it turns out my fussy girl will eat anything she contributes to the cooking of. Yeeessss!

Take time to smell the rabbits

It is literally our third day of being stay at home girls.  We haven't done much staying at home, which is ok.  It's freezing cold but that's why we have wool.

We spent some time at a local nature park and G had a fine time playing with (and attempting to kiss) some rabbits.  I definitely do not share her deep love of all creatures great and small (a woodlouse is "sooo cute", don't you know!) but I can see her caring side really developing.  Perhaps she'll grow up to be a vet.  Or work anywhere other than an abattoir really...

Decisions, decisions...

There were so many factors in my decision to ditch a really well paid position which was exactly where I wanted to be in my career.  There were about 100 reasons AT work to leave but one big reason NOT at work - Miss G.

As of 2 July 2015, I am unemployed.  I have enrolled in two Masters courses (to avoid that dreaded gap in the old CV) but I am really excited about focusing on being a mum.  A proper mum who doesn't have so much on her mind about school that the number one person in her life dips out.

So, G, here we go...
